Here are some pictures from the surf at the Wedge today. I took a little break from editing and headed down to the Wedge which is close to where I live on Balboa Peninsula. A big swell came in last night and today we were getting 20 plus ft waves. Here is a quick post of some surfing pictures and a video I took of one guy catching a wave. It was amazing how many people came down there today. The Peninsula was packed!! I was so bummed to hear that a 50 year old man died as he crashed into the rocks on the wedge.

I remember going to the wedge a few years back to watch the big surf; it was all body boarders and 1 surfer out there- same sized waves. We all watched the surfer and though, “man, that guy is crazy.” When he walked up on the shore, it turned out to be my cousin. Because of how the wedge is crazy shore break, when those guys drop down to the very bottom, often times they’re in about 2 feet of water. Some get their scag caught in the sand and get ejected. Derek, Sweet story thanks for sharing that. Yeah, it was unreal to see some surfers out there. So fun! Next time come down and we’ll go over :)
