This week on our GROW series we thought we'd do a little review of one of our latest lens purchases, the Canon 85mm 1.2 L II USM. So far, we have been really happy with the look of it. It is pretty heavy, which is the down-side of having it as one of our every-day lenses. In back-lit situations, it is harder to control the flare and it seems to spread the light more, creating a softer look overall. Shooting at 1.2 the bokeh (background blur) is as smooth as butter and has produced our favorite bokeh out of all the Canon lenses. One thing that this lens is lacking is focus speed - it definitely takes longer to focus than the 50mm 1.2L. I know that this lens is pricey but so far it's proven to be worth the investment.
